Saint Agnes Food Pantry
Please join us Saturday morning, September 22, for our monthly Food Pantry. The Dare To Care food truck will arrive at 9:00 a.m. and the driver will offload our food inventory with a pallet jack. We will unwrap, arrange and set out the food items. We’ll begin serving guests at 10:00 a.m. and the pantry will remain open until 11:30 a.m.
Simulating a grocery store experience, guests will select their food and use grocery carts to transport the selected items to their cars. In operating the Pantry, volunteers will assemble food on the tables; collect and break down packaging materials for the recycle dumpster; welcome guests and provide assistance transporting food to their cars; retrieve grocery carts from the parking lot; assist with clean-up; and return tables and carts to their proper locations, etc.
On Saturday, August 25 we hosted 118 guests, benefitting a total of 375 people, including 4 service veterans. The modest surplus of squash, potatoes and cantaloupe was delivered to was delivered to St. Vincent de Paul for its pantry operation. We had approximately 40 volunteers consisting of grade school students, high school students, parents and grandparents. In addition to food, we distributed to our guests a good supply of household items such as: paper towels, cleaning products, soap, paper products, etc., all of which were received via church donations during Carnival weekend.
We are glad to have your support regardless of the amount of time you are able to work. Hope to see you Saturday morning!
